Last October 24 and 25, the 2019 UP ICT Planning and ICT Security Workshop was held in the Information Technology Development Center (ITDC). IT directors/officers-in-charge and other representatives from the Constituent Universities’ ICT offices or computer centers attended the workshop.

UP Executive Vice President Dr. Teodoro Herbosa delivered his message to the workshop participants. He stressed the importance of ICT development and the role of ICT in supporting the University achieve its organizational mandate, goals and objectives. Being a state university in the age of digitization, EVP Herbosa emphasized that ICT will deliver great benefits to the UP community and that it is crucial to have efficient ICT resources for the students, faculty, and staff of the University.

The workshop then covered the discussion and review of the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for Information Technology Resources of the UP System, as well as the proposed ICT Security Policy.

After the discussion of the policies, the last objective to be tackled in the workshop was the Information Systems Strategic Planning (ISSP), which is the University’s overall goals and projects in the course of around 3 years, in this case 2021 to 2023.
