The Office of the Vice President for Development - Information Technology Development Center (OVPD-ITDC) is offering FREE webinars for UP staff for the month of August and September. These webinars are designed to strengthen the Work-From-Home (WFH) capabilities of all UP staff. The following webinars that will be held and schedules are listed below:

Privacy and Digital Security Updates (Recurring)
This 30-minute recurring interactive meeting will give an awareness of the recent trends and news on privacy and digital security.

Payables Refresher (August 24, 2021, 9 AM-12 NN)
This refresher training for Accounting Office staff will cover the process of preparing, processing, modifying and monitoring disbursement vouchers. The processing of DVs for payroll and other payroll-related transactions will also be discussed.

Cash Advance Preparation and Closing Process (August 24, 2021,1pm-4pm)
This refresher training for Accounting Office staff will cover the process of preparing DVs for cash advances as well as the closing process through the matching of expense reports.

Processing of DV Payments (August 26, 2021, 9:00 AM -12:00 NN)
This refresher training for Cash and Accounting Office staff will cover the processing of payments for approved DVs. Different payment modes will be discussed such as telegraphic transfers, real-time gross settlement (RTGS), Advice to Debit Account and Checks. The generation of related reports will also be presented.

Closing of Payables Period (August 26, 2021, 1:00 PM -4:00 PM)
This refresher training for Accounting Office staff will cover the process of closing payables periods, generation of related reports. There will also be a discussion on the current state of the UIS Payables periods per CU as well as identification of action items.

Panel Discussion on "Preparing for your Digital Afterlife" (August 31, 2021, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM)
This webinar discusses the sensitive topics on managing all your digital assets in preparation for an untimely demise. Topics will be discussed in a Panel Discussion format, with an open forum for the attendees.

Budget Management 1 (August 31, 2021, 9:00AM-12:00NN)
This refresher training for Budget Office and Accounting Office staff will cover the budget entry and maintenance of budget processes.

Budget Management 2 (August 31, 2021, 1:00PM-4:00PM)
This refresher training for Budget Office and Accounting Office staff will cover the earmarking and obligation of funds processes. Related reports will be generated and presented.

Keynote Tips and Tricks (September 1, 2021, 8AM-9AM)
This webinar will focus on tips and tricks on how to maximize the features of Keynote, the presentation software for Mac and iOS, which can also be used for storytelling, teaching and learning, and creativity.

Basic Home Network Troubleshooting (September 1, 2021, 8AM-9AM)
This webinar covers the basics of testing and troubleshooting networks at home. It will guide the participants in identifying, locating, and correcting problems and will also give helpful tips on how to handle such problems.

Securing Your Home Network (September 2, 2021, 9AM-10AM)
This webinar will show how to secure your home wireless network. It will be a guide for new users who do not usually configure their devices.

Transitioning to Google Drive (September 3, 2021, 8AM-9AM)
This webinar teaches the UP Admin and Staff on how to utilize the Google Drive as their Cloud Storage facility, and to upskill them with the power of collaboration and productivity through workspaces migration with the use of the University’s cloud resources.

Need-to-Know Gmail Lifehacks (September 6, 2021, 8AM-9AM)
This webinar presents an in-depth discussion on the possible features of Gmail that are rarely known to most office administrators and staff. These life hacks will be helpful for them to greatly maximize the use of Gmail, increase productivity, and improve their efficiency in their day-to-day operations, their communications, and their collaborations.

Purchasing Module 1 (September 7, 2021, 9AM-12NN)
This refresher training for Supply and Property Management Office staff will cover the process of supplier management, closing of purchase requisitions, creation of request for quotations, entering quotations, generation of abstract of quotation, creation of invitation to bid, entering bids and the generation of abstract of bids.

Purchasing Module 2 (September 7, 2021, 1PM-4PM)
This refresher training for Accounting Office, Budget Office and Supply and Property Management Office staff will cover the process of creation, approval, and closing of purchase orders. The opening and closing of purchasing periods will also be presented.

Inventory Management and Processing Disbursement Vouchers with SPCMIS Purchase Orders (September 9, 2021, 9AM-12NN)
This refresher training for Accounting Office, Budget Office and Supply and Property Management Office staff will cover the process of receiving items, subinventory transfer, generating the requesition and issuance slip, opening and closing of periods and preparation of DVs with PO. Generation of related reports will be presented.

Assets Module 1 (September 14, 2021, 9AM-12NN)
This refresher training for Accounting Office and Supply and Property Management Office staff will cover the process of adding assets through AP, preparing mass additions, posting mass additions, entering assets using an Assets template and entering assets through quick additions.

Assets Module 2 (September 14, 2021, 1PM-4PM)
This refresher training for Accounting Office and Supply and Property Management Office staff will cover the process of running depreciation, reclassifying assets, retiring assets, posting or create accounting and opening and closing of periods. Related reports will be generated and presented.

Receivables Module 1 (September 28, 2021, 9AM-12NN)
This refresher training for Accounting Office and Cash Office staff will cover the process of creating customers, creating miscellaneous receipts, creating transactions (billing), creating a standard receipt and the printing of official receipts.

Receivables Module 2 (September 28, 2021, 1PM-4PM)
This refresher training for Accounting Office and Cash Office staff will cover the process of checking and updating receipts distribution, running remittances, create accounting and opening and closing of periods. Related reports will be generated and presented.

General Ledger Refresher (September 30, 2021, 9AM-12NN)
This refresher training for Accounting Office staff will cover the process of manual journal entries, manual journal entries via Journal wizard, create accounting and opening and closing of periods. Related reports will be generated and presented.

Closing of Books and Cash Management (September 30, 2021, 1PM-4PM)
This refresher training for Accounting Office staff will cover the process of closing of books (income statement closing) and bank reconciliation.
