On 30 May 2025, the UP ITDC, in collaboration with SoftwareOne Philippines, hosted a webinar via Zoom titled "Empowering Digital Workflows with Microsoft Teams." The one-and-a-half-hour session attracted over 1,000 participants from state universities and colleges (SUCs), private organizations, and government institutions across the country.
The webinar featured expert insights from SoftwareOne Customer Experience Managers, Ulysses Nuñez and Noelleen Esposo. Nuñez, an IT and telecommunications professional, specializes in designing and implementing information and operational systems, with a keen interest in cloud technologies and AI adoption initiatives. Meanwhile, Esposo, a seasoned technology and business consultant, brings a strategic approach to digital transformation and client engagement, fostering innovation through collaboration.
The session covered key topics on communication, collaboration, file sharing, and the various productivity tools available in Microsoft Teams, equipping attendees with valuable strategies to enhance digital workflows and workplace efficiency.
SUCs who attended included the Caraga State University, Central Luzon State University, Rizal Technological University, Technological University of the Philippines, University of the Visayas, Biliran Province State University, and Davao de Oro State College. Government institutions that had attendees included the Professional Regulation Commission, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of Education (Division of Oriental Mindoro). Private sector attendees were from the Davao Doctors College, Inc., the Bank of Commerce, and the Rural Bank of Medina (Misamis Oriental), Inc.
The webinar marked another successful initiative by UP ITDC in fostering technological advancement and skill-building within the academic IT community and within the government sector. This initiative paves the way for greater adoption of emerging digital tools across institutions in the Philippines. UP ITDC offers training through webinars as part of its public service mandate. It also strongly supports the digital transformation initiative of UP and the UP President Angelo A. Jimenez.
