ADMISSION EXAM DETAILS


Q: WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE SIX-MONTH FULL-TIME I.T. CERTIFICATE PROGRAM?

A: To qualify for enrolment for the Full-time IT Certificate Program of the UP ITDC, one must:

  • Be a college graduate of Computer Science and I.T. related courses: OR
  • Be a graduate of other courses: OR
  • Have completed at least two years of college education and possess high aptitude for I.T.
    and dream of becoming part of the elite professionals of the IT industry.
  • Pass the UP ITDC Admission Exam.
  • Q: ARE VOCATIONAL DEGREE GRADUATES QUALIFIED TO ENROL?

    A: Yes. As long as they pass the UP ITDC Admission Exam.

    Q: WHAT IS THE ADMISSION EXAM’S COVERAGE?

    A: The Admission Exam is an aptitude test. It consists of four parts:

  • Verbal Proficiency
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Mathematics
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FINISH THE ADMISSION EXAM?

    A: The exam takes three hours to finish.

    Q: WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FULL-TIME I.T. CERTIFICATE PROGRAM?

    A: The requirements are the following:

  • Duly-accomplished UP ITDC Full-time IT Certificate Program Online Application Form
  • A photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG)
  • 2×2 colored ID picture (2 pieces)
  • Php 150.00 for the online admission exam fee. Please deposit your payment at the nearest Land Bank of the Philippines branch. Account Name: UPS Trust Fund, Account Number: 1462-1013-64, Branch: Land Bank Katipunan Branch.
  • ADMISSION PROCEDURE:


    STEP 1
    The applicant must accomplish the online application form at http://itdc.up.edu.ph/#registration. An email confirmation of your application will be sent to you via email.

    STEP 2
    Proceed to the UP ITDC Admin Office at Vidal A Tan Hall, Quirino corner Velasquez Streets, UP Diliman, Quezon City on your scheduled date of exam. Submit your requirements, settle the admission fee, and take the exam. Results of the admission exam is sent via email, SMS, Facebook page announcement, and ITDC website announcement.

    STEP 3
    Qualified applicants who passed the admission exam must coordinate with Ms. Arianne Gozon and accomplish the registration form for enrollment.

    STEP 4
    Check your balance/account with Ms. Arianne Gozon at the UP ITDC Admin Office.

    STEP 5
    Pay your balance at the nearest Land Bank (prepare 5 copies of deposit slip).

    STEP 6:
    Surrender three (3) copies of the deposit slips to Ms. Arianne Gozon. Official receipt will be issued after two (2) weeks.

    Q: WHEN IS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?

    A: At least three days before the date of the examination.

    Q: HOW MUCH IS THE TRAINING FEE?

    A: The Full-time IT Certificate Program costs PhP 32,000.00 per quarter for two quarters. If payment is on installment basis, the enrollee must issue a postdated check or a manager’s check payable to UP System Trust Fund.

    Q: ON WHAT DAYS AND TIME ARE THE UP ITDC FULL-TIME I.T. CERTIFICATE COURSES HELD?

    A: Classes in the full-time program run from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

    Q: DO I HAVE TO MAINTAIN A GRADE AVERAGE WHILE ENROLLED IN UP ITDC?

    A: Yes, you have to maintain a grade average to stay enrolled in the UP ITDC.
    Scholars will also have to maintain a higher grade average.

    Q: IS THE UP ITDC CERTIFICATE IN I.T. EQUIVALENT TO A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA?

    A: No. I.T. is a post-baccalaureate non-degree certificate program.

    Q: CAN THE UP ITDC CERTIFICATE IN I.T. TRAINING PROGRAM SUBJECTS BE CREDITED TOWARD A POST-GRADUATE DEGREE?

    A: No.

    Q: CAN I INCREASE MY CHANCES OF GETTING AN I.T. JOB AFTER GRADUATING FROM UP ITDC?

    A: Although we offer no guarantee, we are very confident that you will. We have a well-designed curriculum, proficient instructors, top-notch facilities, partnerships with the I.T. industry, and solid support from UP and JICA.

    Q: CAN I GET A COPY OF THE COURSE CURRICULUM FOR THE FULL-TIME PROGRAM?

    Q: CAN I TAKE ONLY THE JAPANESE LANGUAGE (NIHONGO) COURSE?

    A: Yes. Classes are held Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The fee is PhP 10,000.00 per quarter. Enrollees do not need to take the Admission Exam.

    Q: CAN I JUST TAKE A SPECIFIC SUBJECT LIKE COMPUTER SECURITY AND NOT ALL THE SUBJECTS IN ONE WHOLE QUARTER?

    A: Yes. Courses in the full-time program are open to part-time students. But enrollees still need to pass the Admission Exam.

    Q: ARE THERE ANY DISCOUNTS FOR TEACHERS AND GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES?

    A: Discounts are offered only to those enrolled in the short courses.

    FROM MRT – QUEZON AVENUE STATION

    UP Campus jeepneys are stationed at a terminal near the Eton Centris building.

    FROM SM NORTH

    UP Campus jeepneys are available at the SM North Jeepney Terminal.

    FROM PHILCOA

    There is a jeepney terminal with UP Campus jeepneys, as well as UP Campus jeepneys coming from Quezon Avenue and the SM North/Trinoma area.

    These will take you directly into UP Diliman. Ask the driver to drop you off at the waiting shed in front of the Faculty Center. You can then walk along Roces St.(between the Faculty Center and Palma Hall) until you get to Quirino Avenue cor. Velasquez St.
